Hi, friends! Today across the United States we celebrate Independent Bookstore Day – a booklover’s dream weekend day to enjoy the warming weather and visit local bookstores in our own neighborhoods. There’s all sorts of deals and events put on by individual stores and it’s a guaranteed fun time for readers of all ages! After these last few trying years it feels good to (safely) go out to support local book sellers and meet fellow readers and authors in person.
Independent Bookstore Day (IBD) is a one-day national party that takes place at indie bookstores across the country on the last Saturday in April. Every store is unique and independent, and every party is different. But in addition to authors, live music, cupcakes, scavenger hunts, kids events, art tables, readings, barbecues, contests, and other fun stuff, there are exclusive books and literary items that you can only get on that day. Not before. Not after. Nowhere else.Indie Bound post on Independent Bookstore Day
I plan on visiting at least one local bookshop to catch their author signing and snag some exclusive swag and deals! Hope you’re able to make it out and enjoy the book festivities as well! 🌞
