Hi, friends, and happy May! I had a great weekend to close out April – a fun 30 year celebration tasting at a winery near us, independent bookstore day, and a full day playing volleyball with friends. One of the busiest weekends in a while!

Recently I’ve been reading The Forever King by Ben Galley, who kindly sent me a copy to read in early April. I had a bit of an influx of books recently so I was a bit delayed, but very excited to be well on my way through this one now!
It’s a pretty big book, coming in at 664 pages, but I wouldn’t know it except for the weight in my hands. So far it’s been very well paced and I’ve been reading at a fast tick. I was a bit concerned when I realized this was the start of second series following the events of his previous series, The Emaneska Series, but it’s been a perfectly fine place for a new Ben Galley reader to jump in!
The opening scenes were quite intense and a good introduction to the world. Already the first few chapters in I’m intrigued by the magick system and curious how the characters are going to blend as the story progresses. And of course I love the fantasy creatures, like the majestic dragon he’s included!!π Look forward to a full review coming in the next few weeks.
