Hi, friends! Hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was really nice – excellent weather, got to visit some wineries with friends and saw the new Dr Strange movie in theater. It was a bit darker than I expected!

Recently I’ve been reading the classic revenge story, The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. Despite being over 500 pages I’m finding it still to be a quick and engaging re-read ~15years after my first time through. Dantes is a sympathetic character and it’s entertaining to watch the way he reforges himself in society and crafts his revenge against his enemies. Because it is a classic this book does have a different style and strong themes of honor, religion, and “proper” society which are a bit outdated, but it still reads well.
If there are any other classics you still enjoy let me know! Currently my list is small but growing, and includes books like Dracula, Frankenstein, work by Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky, and whatever the name of that one is where there’s a painting that ages…can’t seem to remember the name ๐
